ALTERNATIVAS PARA MEJORAR EL SERVICIO DE INTERVENCIÓN Y RESCATE DE ANIMALES EN ORGANIZACIONES SIN FINES DE LUCRO EN GUAYAQUIL

Abstract

Animal rescue services contribute to resolve the lack of education on a responsible animal ownership. In Guayaquil, many people have committed to help as volunteers by creating not for profit organizations to rescue and help animals in need. Unfortunately, given the lack of support from authorities and especially due to a nonexistent administrative structure in these organizations, they are not able to fulfill their mission of ending massive amounts of abandoned animals in the city, as well as educating and raising awareness in the community in order to accomplish their mission. The general objective of this research paper is to develop alternatives for animal rescue organizations to improve the service they currently provide to the community. The methodology implemented in this document included a bibliographic research and a field research based on other research documents and a survey, the population involved in the research are inhabitants of the city of Guayaquil and the sample was of five hundred people.The feasibility of these proposals is determined through a survey that was sent out to a group of inhabitants of the city of Guayaquil. The main result indicates that78.9% of the people in the survey would pay for making use of the services provided by these organizations. It is concluded that there are several alternatives that can be implemented within animal rescue organizations in the city of Guayaquil in order to improve the service they currently provide.
