CUIDADOS DE ENFERMERÍA EN GESTANTES DE ALTO RIESGO DEL HOSPITAL DR. ENRIQUE ORTEGA MOREIRA

Abstract

The care of high-risk pregnant women is a priority due to the potential complications that may arise for both the mother and the fetus, so this study aims to analyze the perspectives of nursing care in high-risk pregnant women at the Hospital Dr. Enrique Ortega Moreira. Enrique Ortega Moreira Hospital; for which the quantitative, transversal and descriptive methodology was used, in which the universe was composed of pregnant women attended in this hospital institution, the sample consisted of 50 pregnant women, who had a high-risk pregnancy, to whom the Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire (CUCACE) was applied. It was found that 100% of the pregnant women affirmed that strategies such as the gradual increase in food intake and the prevention of injuries during convulsions were applied. However, areas for improvement were identified in continuous monitoring and comprehensive management of critical parameters. Only 75% indicated that nurses monitor vital signs, ensure that airways are kept patent in cases of eclampsia, carry out metabolic control, control their body language and explain the medical situation effectively; there is emotional support and effective communication in 100% of the staff. It is concluded that it is necessary to continue improving nursing practices in the management of high-risk pregnant women, focusing on more rigorous monitoring and more effective communication to ensure optimal and safe management of these patients.
